Longtime writer/director Alex Cox (Repo Man, Sid & Nancy) has returned to cinema screens with TOMBSTONE RASHOMON, a western mockumentary that cannot be missed.
“Cox’s latest, is in many ways a logical extension of this view of history as inextricable from the present. The tale of the famous Gunfight at the O.K. Corral in Tombstone, Arizona, told in the kaleidoscopic style of Akira Kurosawa’s seminal Rashomon,” wrote Motion State Review.
TOMBSTONE RASHOMON takes place on October 27, 1881, following a time traveling video crew in Tombstone, AZ to film the gunfight at the O.K. Corral. But realizing they were a day late, they set about interviewing the survivors. Perspectives include that of Wyatt Earp (Adam Newberry), Doc Holliday (Eric Schumacher), Kate (Christine Doidge), Ike Clanton (Benny Lee Kennedy), Colonel Hafford (Richard Anderson) and Johnny Behan (Jesse Lee Pacheco).
