Michigan – Eagle Scientific Research and Applications, LLC., is seeking to develop an alternative, non-rocket based spacecraft propulsion system. The aim of this research is to develop a faster and safer spacecraft that has a lower cost to build and operate. In order to accomplish this Eagle will be doing research on electrically based theories and models for a propulsion system. These models will be different from the current chemical rocket based propulsion systems.

There are a number of benefits to having a better propulsion system. One benefit is a greater ease of access to space. Companies and universities who want to do research in space will find this particularly useful. Other areas that will benefit from this include the deployment of satellites and space hardware, a greater ability to build space colonies, and the ability to take your family on a vacation in space.

To finance the operation the company has set up a GoFundMe page. They seek to raise US $5.8 million. To facilitate this the company has put forth a 1 million challenge. This is challenging 1 million people to come forward and donate between US $5 and $10 each.

“In a country of over 300 million people, and a world of almost 8 billion people, we should be able to find at least 1 million who would like to see this research done and who are willing to help make it happen,” said co-founder Vincent Pace.

Eagle Scientific Research and Applications was founded by Vincent Pace, Keith Mbelu and Ron Adamus to research and develop a non-rocket spacecraft propulsion system. The company hopes to begin its research operations in the Spring of 2021.
