The Ministry of Commerce announced five national demonstration pedestrian streets on July 22, with China Hangzhou Hubin Pedestrian Street making the list.

Hubin Pedestrian Street has been improving its transportation connections, street quality, and smart facilities, making it a perfect combination of natural landscapes and bustling businesses.

The street is home to some incredible landscapes and is lit up with an array of colorful lights at night. Tourists will feel like they’re in a fairy tale when they walk into the artificial fog. The vibrant logos and poetry verses printed on road surfaces always leave a deep impression on visitors.

There are more than 1,600 brands, including Lululemon, Panasonic, and Lego operating stores on the street. A variety of restaurants provide visitors with an opportunity to taste delicious food from all over the country, while numerous retail stores offer an exciting shopping experience.

Digital technology and big data have made life on the pedestrian street very convenient. Tourists can pay by scanning their faces, check bus schedules and surrounding restaurants using digital screens, and can easily find hotels to stay the night in.

The second phase of renovations on the Hubin Pedestrian Street, which is expected to be completed on October 1, will make the street even more attractive.

An exhibition of Asian Games products kicked off on Hubin Pedestrian Road in Shangcheng district, Hangzhou on July 29.

Twelve franchised manufacturers set up booths by the roadside to showcase their unique designs celebrating Hangzhou and the 2022 Asian Games.

Among the exhibitors are time-honored local brands such as Paradise Umbrella Group and traditional Chinese silk manufacturer Wensli Group.

Live-streamers have been authorized by the Asian Games organizing committee to hold promotional shows for the products on display and stir up enthusiasm for the Asian Games.

On July 22, Hubin Pedestrian Road was made a national example for its attractive layout and successful business model.

The business complex currently covers an area of 41,000 square meters and houses over 1,600 famous Chinese and foreign brands. Both pedestrian and commercial areas boast access to fast 5G networks and mobile payment services.

Hubin Pedestrian Road is designed to be a window into Hangzhou. As the 2022 Asian Games approach, the road has hosted a fan meeting for Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane and Minnesota’s Derrick Rose, increasing sales of sports brands by 26 percent, according to local authorities.
