Greatsun enter renewed partnership and merger talks

Greatsun Financial are pleased to announce that we have re-entered negotiations with a private equity firm and are discussing a potential partnership or merger to continue on our expansive growth strategy.

These discussions are re-commencing after talks broke down last year due to the gross undervaluation of Greatsun Financial. We will always strive to achieve the best possible outcome if we were to merge with another company, for the benefit of ourselves and our clients worldwide.

Talks are ongoing and there are various points still up for discussion. All decisions, progressive or otherwise, will be announced to our clients in due course.

We feel that considering a partnership is a testament to our growth and successes over the past years. During this period of economic uncertainty, we feel we can achieve greater value than if the economy were more buoyant.

Greatsun Financial issued a short statement following meetings of our management board, a spokesperson with knowledge of the matter said, indicating a quickening of pace in the merger process.

“In light of arising opportunities, the management board of Greatsun Financial have decided to review strategic options,” Greatsun said in its statement.

Akari Watanabe, Greatsun Financial’s chief executive, told employees that Greatsun still aimed “to remain a global player with a strong capital markets business…with a global network”. Watanabe also said that many factors could prevent a merger, and talks were expected to last for some time.

Formal disclosure of talks is because we are confident of concluding a deal, previously floated in 2019 before we opted to focus on restructuring.

By capturing a dominate presence in the commodity equities sector, the potential partnership could be immensely beneficial to our ability to offer liquidity, finance and international exposure to our vast pool of clients.
