Over the past ten years, the team at Lignum Custom Woodwork has built up an enviable reputation amongst their clients, who comprise designers, architects, and developers. The grandiose and atmospheric interior at Porfirio’s Miami Beach Restaurant has become another flagship project for our business. Here we share the story of our contribution bringing Porfirio’s concept to Miami Beach.

The Project

Established in Mexico City in 2012, Porfirio’s Restaurant has perfected Mexican cuisine with an exquisite, contemporary and inspirational touch coupled with amazing presentation, and distinguished service. In 2014 the business invested in a new Miami Beach Restaurant which would require a high-quality bespoke interior.

Our Client

Development Service Solutions (DSS) was managing the overall project in partnership with STA Architectural Group. The team at DSS pride themselves on their trifecta of development project success: being on time and in budget, with happy clients who’ve saved time and millions. STA has built a studio of talented, qualified design professionals and a distinguished portfolio of national and international work, specializing in high-end Architecture and Interior Design.

The Challenge

When DSS Consultants approached us to work on this project, they needed thousands of square wood wall panels, lighting, floating metal display shelving with LED lit acrylic, a marble hostess stand, bars, counters, and communal tables. By the time we were engaged to deliver this complex buildout, there were only three months left before the opening date!

Our Approach

This deadline was ambitious but perfectly achievable. Every project we deliver is completely custom manufactured, and our team brings together all the skills, expertise, and craftsmanship required to take a project from initial plans to completion.

We were able to take the original designs and turn these into carefully crafted and fully workable installations effectively. Using the highest quality materials, Wood, Metal, Stone, & Lights we focused on each of the different elements required, specialty finishes including Copper with Patina, and testing the LED’s, as well as load testing the immense Floating Shelves, while sourcing a range of materials, including high-quality hardwoods to produce the counters, bars, and communal tables.

Because we at Lignum have curated vast trade resources & experience, we were able to provide all they’re needs, and the final product was beautifully executed.

The Result

The project was completed on time and within budget to our very exacting standards. The quality of the finished project radiates custom craftsmanship as a result of the combination of carefully crafted materials and the expertise of our team. All the project stakeholders were thoroughly impressed with the final results which far exceeded their expectations.

Our most challenging projects come from clients like Architects & Developers under tight deadlines, & demanding logistics, they rely on many subcontractors to get the job done right. Contractors are highly focused on the construction process, completing projects under compliance and under budget.
