Meet the Famous Used Tiffany Bracelets – Gray & Sons Jewelers

We talk with Ms. Agata Arakel – Brand Manager of Gray & Sons Jewelers

How can we know the Tiffany & Co. brand?

Many people heard about this brand for the first time in the movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Scenes like Audrey Hepburn eats her breakfast in front of Tiffany’s showroom or where she asks in the store for what they have the cheapest and she buys a stick to dial the phone number 🙂

What about Tiffany’s history?

The history of the company known today all over the world dates back to 1837.  The initial name of the company is Tiffany & Young, and its owners at that time were Charles Lewis Tiffany and Paul Young. They opened their first store on Broadway in New York.

After several years of activity, the company was completely taken over by Charles, and its name was changed to the one still in force today: Tiffany & Co.

In 1878, for 18,000 dollars Charles Tiffany acquired the stone that became the pearl in the crown of the jewelry empire – a yellow diamond weighing 287.42 carats. This extraordinary acquisition strengthened Charles Tiffany’s reputation as the “king of diamonds”.

The stone excavated in South Africa was taken to Paris, where it was cut under the watchful eye of the company’s main gemmologist, Dr. George Kunz. The raw crystal was shaped into an 82-faced cushion, which was supposed to emphasize the transparency and color of the stone. To this day they are the specialty of a jewelry company.

Buy Tiffany. Who buys from Tiffany?

Tiffany jewelry is bought by the biggest stars in the world of movies, business, and politics.

President Abraham Lincoln ordered his wife Mary Todd’s necklace from Tiffany, and Franklin D. Roosevelt bought an engagement ring here. Jewelry from Fifth Avenue was worn by Jacqueline Kennedy-Onassis and Elizabeth Taylor, and today they are worn by, among others Rachel Weisz, Kate Winslet, and Natalie Portman.

What is Tiffany & Co. brand symbol?

The Tiffany Blue Book, which appeared on the market in 1845, was, in turn, the first-ever mail-order catalog of a jewelry company. In 1968, the Tiffany & Co. brand was the first to launch blue tanzanite.

If we are talking about blue. One of the brand’s symbols is the color Tiffany Blue, which has been a registered trademark of the company. The blue shade is still used today in blue boxes, catalogs, shopping bags, brochures, website, advertising and promotional materials of the company.

What is your favorite Tiffany & Co. jewelry?

All Tiffany collections are unique. I would like to have everything 🙂

Tiffany engagement ring

I don’t know if you know, but Tiffany achieved his success in 1886 when he launched gold or platinum engagement rings with a six-tooth diamond.

This model called the solitaire quickly became the most popular wedding jewelry in the world. Although invented over 100 years ago, it is still today. It is “ring of the rings”.

Why did this model get so much recognition?

Thanks to a specially developed attachment to the diamond, the maximum amount of light reaches, which highlights the phenomenal glow of this stone. To this day, these rings are handmade and they attach diamonds with the highest brightness class.

However, my favorite jewelry is the Tiffany bracelet.
