Kickstarter campaign introduces quantum physics to children through animation & games

Quantum Force teaches Quantum Physics concepts to kids in an easy-to-understand and fun way with the use of animations, visual storylines, cool characters and interactive games.

California-based See Here Studios LLC just launched an innovative project on Kickstarter which aims to introduce quantum physics to kids and inspire their interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) fields. Titled “Quantum Force,” the package includes a learning software, card game and circuit building kit which incorporate animation and cartoon characters to make physics concepts engaging and fun for children ages 5 to 13. 

The FIRST of its kind, Quantum Force is a collaborative initiative by two former Pixar artists, Glenn Kim & Valerie Mih, as well as STEM education professor Dr. Alexis Lauricella of the Erikson Institute.

Quantum Physics sits at the foundation of most STEM fields, including medicine, engineering, quantum computing, industrial design, materials science, and so on. Currently, across the globe, there is a labor market shortage in many of these fields. A recent survey in the United States found that only 11% of American teen girls were interested in STEM, and only 24% of American teen boys expressed interest in STEM (Junior Achievement survey of 1000 U.S. teens, 2018). Bolstering young students’ interest and confidence for STEM during the elementary and pre-teen years can help pave the path for STEM pursuits in high school, college and beyond. 

“Unfortunately, quantum physics is not introduced to kids until they reach high school, and by that time a lot of children have already lost interest in STEM fields which might also affect their job prospects later in life. If we can introduce our kids to the concept of quantum physics in their early years, they’ll have a stronger foundation for STEM interest and academics. There is a huge STEM gap today, and this is where our Quantum Force comes to the rescue,” explains Quantum Force developer Valerie Mih of See Here Studios.

We have infused our product with amazing animations and interactive games. The Quantum Force learning software follows an interactive storyline that acquaints kids with the concept of atoms, subatomic particles and also renewable energy. It is compatible with desktop and major mobile operating systems (iOS, Android). 

The Atom Elements card game offers a kid-friendly fun introduction to the Periodic Table of Elements. The cards are made with extra-heavy highly durable cardstock for years of use. The game also involves three levels of gameplay to cater to kids of varying ages. 

The Quantum Force-themed Squishy Circuits building kit presents an exciting, intuitive, and child-safe way for little ones to begin creating projects with circuits and electricity.
